The Secrets Of Pemberley – Comment to Win!

I have loved sharing my stories with readers on the Darcy and Lizzy site! As a new author, this site was very welcoming to me—long before I had aspirations of publishing. As the years have gone on, I have not always had time to post a story before publication, but when I do, I genuinely love the feedback I receive here. Although I have beta readers, it helps immensely to hear opinions of my intended audience and in more significant numbers.

I would like to include three statements of “praise” for The Secrets of Pemberley on the Kindle book page. As a special thank you, everyone who leaves a comment will be entered in a giveaway. Prizes include: one ebook copy of The Secrets of Pemberley, one print copy of The Secrets of Pemberley, and one ebook copy of a Rose Fairbanks book of their choice. Winners of prizes will be chosen at random.

What am I looking for in the praise comments? This is not a review or a book summary. I’m looking for your emotional response to the story. Did your heart race or ache? Were you enthralled? Did it feel like a tear-jerker? Now’s the time to sing your praises for the story so other readers will know why they have to snatch it up.

I’ll be back soon with some outtakes and vignettes for this story and am already working on the next one. Again, thank you all for your support and I can’t wait to see what you have to say about The Secrets of Pemberley!

Thank you, Rose

I thoroughly enjoyed the journey you took our beloved characters on, from one twist to another down a road of self discovery to finding that love truly is the greatest gift we can give and receive. Thank you so much for your wonderful story!

Hi Rose… Congratulations on the new release. Haven’t finish reading it all but I know it will be fabulous.

I really enjoyed this story Rose albeit being a real tearjerker for poor Darcy. His cousin Stephen was !!!!!!! Well, say no more about him yet you had the ton choosing to ignore the implications of what he said. That was very well done but oh, the romance of Darcy and Elizabeth, that was very sweet. Thank you for the story and am now looking forward to the outtakes.

I wouldn’t say the ton ignored him but we don’t really get a sense of how much time he spent in the ton anyway–if any. It’s just not important to Darcy’s story.

I found the first half of this story to be a real tear- jerker. Fortunately Darcy learns from this whole experience and he and Elizabeth go on to have a loving, supportive marriage.

Yes, it is rough on Darcy at first.

A second chance for D&E. Like that D learn the meaning of true love to Elizabeth.

This book takes the reader through every emotion from despair at Darcy’s childhood through his wooing of Elizabeth to almost absolute ruin before the beautiful epilogue. Rose Fairbanks at her best. The cover is priceless.

Loved this book will read again. Would love a paperback copy. Loved that you didn’t know the first was a dream until you had already almost died of sadness.

I particularly loved this story because you delved very deeply into the psyche of this completely different Darcy. You moved slowly but methodically through his thinking and rationalizations, his gradual absorption into love and his shocking realization of what love means.

A very wonderful and moving tale.

It was pretty incredible being that deep in Darcy’s mind. Thanks for joining me on the adventure.

Rose Fairbanks has taken a unique twist on the famous Fitzwilliam Darcy, proud heir to Pemberley, by making him the illegitimate son of Anne Darcy’s affair. Now he truly has good reason to be standoffish to strangers, a man of few words, and reluctant to marry and participate in Society. But how will Elizabeth Bennet change his life and give him joy, when no one can change the truth of his illegitimacy! = = = = = = = = = = Rose, this is a wonderful take on our favorite couple, and I hope you have many readers interested… Read more »

Congratulations on the new release Rose. 🙂 I love the cover and the blurb is interesting. I haven’t read it yet so I can’t give my opinion, but I loved your other books. And I agree with you on what you are looking for in readers’ opinions, I like reading emotional reactions to a story.

I think what I liked most about this book (apart from the great writing–because when the writing is high caliber, you don’t even think about it much) was the premise. Being a “Darcy” is usually something that fuels Darcy’s character in a JAFF-inspired story, but here, that’s turned on its head, and readers are given the chance to see what Darcy might have been like if he was not, in fact, the blood-related son of the Master of Pemberley. Instead, he’s legally recognized by the Darcys, but conceived on the wrong side of the blanket. We know such things happened,… Read more »

What a unique premise to an intriguing story. Fitzwilliam Darcy is the heir, but not of the blood line. This fascinating tale reeled me in from the beginning. I loved how the author was able to interject the canon traits of the character into this new setting while putting him through the paces of self-discovery and growth.

Thanks! I’m glad you saw the Canon personality in him even with all the changes.

This is such a beautiful story as well as being an intriguing one!!! The reader really can empathsize with Darcy.

Thanks for your comment! I’m pleased with how many people could feel Darcy’s pain.

This story keeps you on pins and needles for waiting for ODC to reconcile despite the misunderstandings. I felt Darcy and Elizabeth’s emotional ups and downs throughout Rose’s story.

Thanks for your words. I’m so happy I was able to keep the air of mystery on how it was all going to work out.

I loved this story and the slightly different premise of Darcy not being the son of George Darcy. I enjoyed the little twist near the end from someone unexpected.
